| CONSULTING

Understand what’s happening. Decide what to do next.

Sometimes the hardest part of a problem isn’t solving it. It’s seeing it clearly.

Consulting at The Open Practice Academy is for individuals, teams, and organizations trying to understand a challenge, make a decision, redesign a system, or move an idea forward with more intention.

I bring a relational, systems-oriented lens to the work. That means I’m interested not only in what is happening, but also in the structures, assumptions, relationships, workflows, policies, and patterns shaping what is possible.

The goal is not to hand you a generic set of best practices. It is to help you understand your specific situation well enough to make thoughtful, workable decisions.

Consulting can include

  • Organizational and systems analysis

  • Change strategy

  • Leadership and relational practice

  • Program design and redesign

  • Curriculum and learning strategy

  • Open education and OER

  • Educational technology and LMS strategy

  • AI readiness and responsible adoption

  • Research and knowledge work

  • Website and digital experience review

  • Workflow and process redesign

  • Accessibility and participation

  • Strategic planning

  • Practice Cartography

  • Program evaluation and improvement

  • Facilitation and stakeholder sensemaking

You might come to me when…

  • You know something is not working, but you are not yet sure why.

  • You are preparing to launch or change something and want an outside perspective before moving forward.

  • Your team has several competing explanations for the same problem.

  • You have an idea but need help determining whether it is feasible, sustainable, or aligned with your values.

  • You have inherited a program, system, course, website, initiative, or process and need to understand what you actually have.

  • You are making an important decision and want a thoughtful partner who will ask better questions, surface assumptions, and help you see the larger system.

What consulting can produce

Depending on the engagement, consulting may result in:

  • Recommendations

  • Strategy

  • A written analysis

  • An audit or review

  • A roadmap

  • A decision framework

  • An implementation plan

  • A redesigned process

  • A facilitated working session

  • A set of priorities

  • A program or organizational blueprint

  • Documentation that helps others understand what happens next

Sometimes the most useful outcome is not a document. It is clarity.

Not sure how much time you need?

Tell me what’s happening through the inquiry form. I read every submission personally. If I can help, I’ll recommend a starting point, including the minimum viable scope I think could meaningfully move the work forward.

Every inquiry is welcome. Sometimes it leads to a project. Sometimes it leads to a conversation, a connection, a resource, or a smaller way forward.
